Mildred Baptist Church

A Southern Baptist Church

Mildred Baptist Church

About Us:

Mildred Baptist Church is a congregation rich in diversity and unified in its belief in Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible. We celebrate God's truth through worship, preaching, music and mission work. We witness to God's truth by continually striving to serve those in need and to improve the quality of life for people in our city and the wider world beyond. We live God's truth in our daily lives by nurturing spiritual growth and gifts through prayer, education and Bible study.

Our congregation consists of a wide variety of economic, ethnic background.  We have a mixed variety of families as well as many singles.  A typical Sunday worship will have 120-175 in attendance.  Most of which go to our Sunday School.

Our Beliefs

  • The Scripture - We view the Bible as the ultimate authority in shaping a person's life.  It is without error, flaw and it still relevant today.  The Word of God is a living Word, an active Word, a penetrating Word (Heb. 4:12). It is helpful to appreciate that the Bible, while truly divinely inspired, is a human book with human characteristics, human perspectives, human interests, human thought patterns and emotions. God used people to write the Bible. Each writer had their own particular writing style, while the message is from God.
  • Evangelical - We adhere to the belief that while humanity is fallen, the good news is that Christ came to pay the penalty of our sins on the cross.  That penalty, now paid in full, means that God offers forgiveness and new life as a free gift.  All who will receive Christ as Lord may have it.
  • Heaven and Hell - We believe there is a Heaven and a Hell.  People who fail to recognize God as the one and only are sentenced to an eternity in hell.
  • Equal Access to the Father - All Christians have equal access to God's revelation of truth through the careful study of the Bible and prayer.
  • Personal Relationship with our Father - Every person has to account for themselves and their standings with our Almight God.  Nobody get's to heaven based off of other people's beliefs or status.
  • Salvation by Faith Alone - It is only by faith and belief that Jesus died for mankind and that He is the one and only God that people gain entrance into heaven.
  • Jesus will return - We believe in the literal second coming of Jesus Christ when God will judge and divide between the saved and the lost and Christ will judge believers, rewarding them for acts done while living on earth.
  • Baptism - As indicated by their name a primary Baptist distinction is their practice of believer's baptism and their rejection of infant baptism. Baptists consider Christian baptism to be an ordinance for believers only, by immersion only, and as a symbolic act, not having any power in itself. The act of baptism pictures what Christ has done for the believer in His death, burial, and resurrection. It pictures what Christ has done for the believer through the new birth, enabling us to walk in the newness of life. Baptism gives testimony to a salvation already received; it is not a requisite for salvation. It is an act of obedience to Jesus Christ.

The Worship Style

Mildred Baptist Church has a blended style of music, powerful Bible teachings and the opportunity for public professions of faith, joining the church body through membership as well as rededication to His service.
